Resources
You are not alone in your attempt to quit tobacco. Many resources, in addition to this site, are available to help make your next attempt successful.
American Cancer Society Quitline: 877-YES QUIT
The American Cancer Society operates a toll-free Quitline at 877-YES QUIT (937-7848). By calling, you’ll receive free and confidential counseling services, support and information from trained professionals. Research shows that the support provided by a quitline can double your chances of successfully quitting smoking. Research also shows that tobacco-users who called the quitline were three times more likely to be nonsmokers one year later than those who did not use the quitline.
Help Your Employees Quit
Employers can provide major incentives for employees to quit tobacco through insurance plans that cover cessation services. Clinical interventions to reduce smoking provide immediate savings for employers and a positive return on investment within two to three years for health plans. In addition, nonsmokers miss less time from work, are more productive and usually have lower health care costs than smokers. For a closer look at the return on investment for offering cessation coverage, view the report at www.businesscaseroi.org/roi/default.aspx and see http://www.ctri.wisc.edu/Employers/Actuarial.Analysis.pdf.
