Resources

You are not alone in your attempt to quit tobacco. Many resources, in addition to this site, are available to help make your next attempt successful.

American Cancer Society Quitline

The American Cancer Society operates a toll-free Quitline at 1-877-YES-QUIT (937-7848). By calling the Quitline, you will receive free and confidential counseling services, support and information from trained professionals. Research from The University of Texas Health Science Center revealed tobacco users ages 18 to 25 who received counseling through the Quitline were three times as likely to be nonsmokers one year later that those who did not receive counseling.

Help Your Employees Quit

Employers can provide major incentives for employees to quit tobacco through insurance plans that cover cessation services. Clinical interventions to reduce smoking provide an immediate savings for employers and a positive return on investment within two to three years for health plans. In addition, nonsmokers miss less time from work, are more productive and usually have lower healthcare costs than smokers. For a closer look at the return on investment for offering cessation coverage, view the report at www.businesscaseroi.org/
